A UK right-hand-drive Merak SS — described as one of the last built — that has had a full body-off restoration completed in 2019, covering under 350 miles since. Key information • UK right-hand-drive Merak SS, one of the last built • Delivered and registered in 1983 • Full body-off restoration completed in 2019 • Engine rebuilt with valve and timing-chain upgrades; gearbox and suspension rebuilt • Original parts used throughout, many sourced from Italy, with receipts and invoices on file • Under 350 miles since restoration, regularly exercised to keep everything working • 3.0-litre V6, five-speed manual Model overview The Merak was built from 1972 during Maserati's Citroën ownership, sharing its 3.0-litre V6 (and much of its hydraulics) with the Citroën SM. Mid-engined and styled by Giugiaro, it was the more usable, 2+2 sister to the V8 Bora. The later Merak SS was the most powerful and best-developed version, and genuinely restored right-hand-drive examples are now rare and increasingly sought-after.
